This three-day workshop provides an opportunity to observe, experience, and practice Classical Adlerian therapeutic techniques with peers and seasoned professionals. Strategies for cognitive, affective, and behavioral change will be demonstrated. Participants will bring a personal or professional issue to work on. To allow for sufficient preparation and debriefing, an hour of study-analysis by telephone should be scheduled for the week before the workshop, and an hour of study-analysis by telephone should be scheduled for the week after the workshop. A limited number of on-site, individual study-analysis sessions will be available on Wednesday, Septemeber 26th and Thursday, Septemeber 27th. Instructor: Henry T. Stein, Ph.D.

Dr. Stein is a Classical Adlerian psychotherapist, training analyst, Director of the Alfred Adler Institute of Northwestern Washington, and Co-Director of the Alfred Adler Institute of San Francisco. He studied with Sophia de Vries and Anthony Bruck, who were trained by Alfred Adler. For nearly thirty years, he has been training psychotherapists with an approach based on the original teachings and therapeutic style of Alfred Adler, as well as the clinical and philosophical writings of other Classical Adlerians. His own contributions to Classical Adlerian clinical practice include a comprehensive adaptation of the Socratic method and a thorough exposition of the twelve stages of psychotherapy. He is the editor of the The Collected Clinical Works of Alfred Adler.

The workshop will be held at the home of Laurie and Henry Stein in Bellingham, Washington, about a twenty-minute drive from the city center. For California MFT's and LCSW's, "Experiencing Classical Adlerian Psychotherapy" meets the qualifications for 18 hours of continuing education credit. You may earn additional hours by engaging in pre-workshop and post-workshop individual consultations. As required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, Dr. Stein is a Continuing Education Provider (Approval No. PCE 2963) in the State of California.
